Standardized Quality & Inspection Procedures
Eliminating guesswork between customer expectations and delivered leather. We enforce objective criteria for sheep nappa, goat nappa, and commercial leathers across substance, temper, touch, and batch documentation.
What we define for sheep & goat nappa and commercial lots
Whether manufacturing sheep or goat nappa to order or trading commercial lots, we document four core criteria:
1. Substance & Gauge Tolerances
Thickness is measured according to agreed substance ranges. For sheep and goat nappa, where substance ranges typically span 0.6–1.0 mm, consistent thickness control is important to preserve garment drape and shoe-lining comfort.
2. Temper, Softness & Drape
Sheep nappa requires a buttery, round hand feel with fluid garment drape, while goat nappa balances suppleness with characteristic grain firmness. We reference physical approved cuttings to maintain temper continuity.
3. Grain Break & Surface Uniformity
Inspecting the tight pore structure of sheep and goat skins. When bent 180°, the nappa surface must exhibit a fine, uniform break without loose grain separation or cracking.
4. Color Matching & Fastness
Dyed and finished articles are visually evaluated against approved shade standards, supporting color consistency and finish performance.
How material is verified before dispatch
For both made-to-order productions and traded consignments, Musab Leathers conducts structured verification before dispatch:
Multi-Zone Thickness Sampling
Skins are measured across standardized points to ensure batch compliance with agreed millimetric tolerances.
Visual Shade Evaluation
Dyed lots are compared side-by-side with approved customer reference cuttings to verify tone consistency.
Surface Usability & Grading
Skins are visually inspected to ensure cutting area yield aligns with agreed grade specifications.
The four-step order process
Ensuring quality alignment from requirement brief to export shipment.
Share Requirements
Provide target substance, temper, end-use application (apparel, footwear, or goods), and estimated volume.
Confirm Specifications and Sample Needs
We review technical feasibility, confirm detailed specifications, and supply physical sample cuttings or strike-offs.
Approve Agreed Material Details
Review and approve agreed material details, sample cuttings, color target, and specifications before order progression.
Proceed with the Agreed Order
Order progression moves forward strictly according to agreed terms, with pre-dispatch verification and coordinated dispatch details.
